Squish City
DUNGEON MASTER GUIDE
NOTE: The chapter can be played as part of chapter 2. This chapter isn't that long but breaking it up in two gives younger players a chance to take a break. There is not a ton of narration in this mission, this mission is really about going through the dungeon and fighting boss #3, which is a giant tornado.
The adventurers have come back to the city. Nuz has a couple of things for them. The first being that he offers his skill to make a bomb called a "kookilloy", which requires an empty bottle and pink shard -- both of which the adventurers can buy at the general store. Upon kookilloy creation, if the players give Nuz more than 3 or more pink shards when they ask him to make a kookilloy, Nuz will make a massive kookilloy rather than a small kookilloy.
Kookilloys aren't needed to defeat the boss on this stage, but the kookilloy will make the boss lose their turn because it'll push enemies aside as well as make them lose a turn.
The adventurers can go back and talk to Big Momma, she will congratulate them and give them some essence of life and healing potions.
READ
You feel victorious from defeating Nuz's Humonculus. You want to take a break, but Nuz comes over quickly and tells the adventurers that he'll keep the eggs warm while you go exploring.
The Mountain Pass
READ
When the robot sentry destroyed the rock wall, the wind seems to be more and more turbulent. The wind is coming from above, but first, time to defeat some baddies!
DUNGEON MASTER GUIDE
The mountain pass is windier. Throughout the play, ensure that you make this known. Introduce elements such as if the adventurers want to throw a pink shard, it can float away due to the wind.
Volvulus Tornado
READ
A giant tornado!!!
Whoa!
(In the voice of Volvulus) "What are you doing here? Are you here to take my treasures!? Or are you here to feed me squishies!?!?"
CUT SCENE
Have Volvulus Tornado spin, when it spins, switch back to The Mountain Pass and remove the bottom boulders from the map. The adventurers should travel here in Chapter 4.
DUNGEON MASTER GUIDE
Volvulus is a tornado which will periodically spin and suck adventurers into it. When it does this and manages to suck an adventurer in itself, outside adventurers cannot attack it because it would hurt the other adventurer. Inside adventurers can attack Volvulus from the inside.
When Volvulus spins, if adventurers are near the pegs, they can test strength to hang to the peg so that they don't get sucked in.
Adventurers can drop kookilloys on the floor when Volvulus spins, which will suck kookilloys in it and cause explosions.
TEST STRENGTH
The adventurers test strength to hang onto the pegs
1 is rolled: Epic Failure: You make a feeble attempt to hang onto the peg, you attempt to grab it, hit your head, and then get sucked into Volvulus, hitting a sword and rocks. Lose down to 1 health.
2 is rolled: Failure: You manage to hold on tightly, but not tight enough, eventually, you run out of strength, and get sucked into Volvulus. Lose 2 health.
3 to 4 is rolled: Success: With glue on your hands, you manage to hold on for your dear life and not get sucked in.
5 or 6 is rolled: Epic Success: Your hands hold the peg tightly. The peg shakes and drops a healing potion (or essence of life, or some gold).
DUNGEON MASTER GUIDE
When Volvulus is defeated, drop a number of items and gold on the floor (if the adventurers need more help, drop more).
Volvulus will drop a single essence of thundercloud which can power the incubator.

READ
Volvulus explodes and disappears without a trace like the wind. There is no more sign of Volvulus, just the wake from its disaster.
The air now is still, and the atmosphere is quiet. Is this a good thing? Maybe.
In the debris, you find a sparking object that continuously sparks and flashes. This can potentially power the incubator this is the essence of thundercloud!
Not only this, but amongst the debris, you also find some relics which will aid you on your journey! You gain the following relics:
Ranger:
Phase Cloak – roll D4 every time you get attacked, if you roll 4, the attack deals you no damage!
Warrior:
Critical Ring: Everytime you attack, D4, if you roll 4, attack does double.
Wizard:
Boom-mallow Ring: Once per map, move to anywhere on the map, immediately deal 3 damage to adjacent enemies.

READ
Back at camp, you place the essence of thundercloud in the incubator, it requires some delicate handling.
TEST DEXTERITY
The adventurers test dexterity to put the essence of thundercloud in the incubator. The ranger tests with a D6, all others test with a D4.
1 or 2 is rolled: Epic Failure: Zap! The spark backfires and hits you. Your hair catches on fire! Lose 1 health. Perhaps next time if you need a haircut, have someone cut your hair instead?
3 is rolled: Failed: Buzztttt! The incubator hisses but doesn’t start up.
4 or more is rolled: Success! Zap!
On the first critical hit: The incubator whirls up, you feel the warmth coming from it, and then shuts down. Perhaps it needs another zap.
The incubator whirls up! Hmmm hmmmm, it seems to be up! Nuz gets off the eggs, and you feel that it's nice and warm. You place the eggs inside the incubator.
Activity
Using any sort of modeling clay, young players can model the Volvulus and present it at the next Chapter.
